Abstract

896,694. Electric kettles. RAINSFORD & LYNES Ltd., and LYNES, R. K. March 11, 1960 [Dec. 17, 1958], No. 40812/58. Class 39(3) [Also in Group XXXVI] In a kettle, or other vessel, an annulus 2 is swayed in a liquid-tight manner in an aperture in the body of the kettle, a bush 5 carrying an electric heating element 3 which is withdrawable through the annulus, is snugly fitted in the annulus and held in place by a screw threaded flanged clamping ring as shown. A sealing gasket 6 may be provided, and a flanged cylindrical sleeve 8 designed to surround a plug connector to terminals 4 may be held in place by sandwiching the flange 8a between locking ring flange 7a and bush flange 5a. Alternatively the sleeve 8 may be made integral with the bush 5.
