Abstract

824,828. Moulding condenser casings. MOCHI, E. G. Feb. 3, 1958 [Dec. 12, 1957], No. 3401/58. Class 87(2). [Also in Group XXXVI] An electrical component, e.g. a condenser 1, Fig. 1, is hermetically sealed by placing it within and spaced from a housing 2 having at least one removable end closure 3, so that a resin sealing compound, e.g. a polyester or epoxy resin, may be poured into the space between the component and the housing 2, the closure or closures 3 being removable after the resin has set. As illustrated in Fig. 1, the housing 2 has two end closures 3 provided with a resin inlet 4 and a vent 4 respectively. Alternatively the housing 7, Fig. 3, has a single lower end closure 9, the upper condenser terminal a extending outwardly as shown or being connected to the upper end of the casing 7 as in Fig. 4 (not shown).
