Abstract
896,475. Making bags. PAPIERWERK P. REUTHER G.m.b.H. Aug. 31, 1959 [Sept. 5, 1958; May 22, 1959], No. 29578/59. Class 94(2). Bags having flat seamless bottoms are provided at the longitudinal and bottom edges with reinforcing straps. The edges 2, 3 of a length of material, e.g. of synthetic resin or regenerated cellulose fibres, are first folded as shown in Fig. 1 and the underside of the folds 2, 3 are heat-sealed to the surface 1. The borders 10, 11 are folded back. The strip so far folded is then folded along the lines a, b, c to form the bag bottom, as shown in Fig. 2. The sides 2, 3 are then folded inwards to form the bag sides, Fig. 3, and the borders 10, 11 are heat sealed together. Triangular flaps result from folding in the sides 2, 3 and the lengths of the borders 10, 11 which project from these outstanding flaps may be heat-sealed together as far as the corners 15, 16 and superfluous material cut off. Reinforcement may be incorporated, located in the heat-sealed border seams of the bag and in the borders 10, 11.
