Abstract

896,351. Counting-apparatus. CHAMBERLAIN & HOOKHAM Ltd. July 13, 1959 [July 29, 1958], No. 24359/58. Class 106 (1). A counter is driven from a rotary part of a meter via a friction clutch 13. Transfer pinions 10, adapted to engage gears 7 on the higher order numeral wheels are driven by teeth 8 on the lower order wheels and comprise two parts 14, 15 normally maintained in frictional engagement with each other. The counter is zeroized by manually rotating each numeral wheel to zero, the parts 14, 15 of the transfer wheels being capable of relative angular movement, and the friction clutch 13 permitting rotation of the lowest wheel independently of the counter drive.
