Abstract
895,755. Valves. LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd., JOSEPH. Sept. 30, 1960 [Oct. 7, 1959], No. 33950/59. Class 135. A fluid-control valve particularly for use in servomotor systems and permitting, by a relatively small movement of a valve member, a relatively large flow through the valve, comprises a body 4 in one end of which is formed a recess 6, a tubular part 7 disposed within this recess so as to leave an annular outlet 9 between the outer end of the part 7 and the recessed end of the body 4 which ends are co-terminous, an inlet passage 12 in the body in communication with the annular outlet 9, and an outlet passage 13 in the body in communication with the interior of the tubular part 7, so that when the valve member 10 is moved away from the co-terminous ends fluid from the inlet 12 can escape radially outwards from the annular outlet 9 and radially inwards to the interior of the tube 7 whence it escapes through the outlet passage 13. The body 4 is mounted in a second body 1 providing an inlet chamber 2 which is sealed at opposite ends by rings 5, 16 respectively on the body 4 and on a flange 15 carried on a stem from this body. The stem is extended through and adjustably engages a cap 17.
