895,063. Joints-making packing. WATT, P. R. May 19, 1960 [June 4, 1959], No. 19167/59. Class 122 (3). [Also in Groups XVII and XVIII] A sealing-ring 18 for a vacuum desiccator comprises a flat annular web 19 which fits against the underside of the lid flange portion 16 and includes a dependent ring 20 which seals against a flange 17 on the container part 10 of the desiccator. The sealing-ring is also provided with a thickened portion 22 to protect the edges of the flanges 16, 17 and an annular web 24 which fits over the flange 16 to hold the ring thereon by a snap-action. The ring may be made of a synthetic rubber, e.g. Neoprene, or a flexible plastics material.
