Abstract

892,963. Reciprocating pumps. NORTON TOOL CO. Ltd., Dec. 8, 1959 [Dec. 9, 1958], No. 39728/58. Class 102(1). A multicylinder reciprocating pump, as shown having three plungers 11, 12, 13, is provided with members 27, 28, 29 mounted on a shaft 30 which upon actuation of the shaft sequentially actuate push rods to prevent the inlet valves closing thus reducing the pump delivery. The shaft 30 is actuated by a piston member 32 in accordance with the pump delivery pressure fed through a pipe 34. The plungers are actuated by a cam shaft 17 driven from an electric motor and having a fly wheel mounted on the shaft.
