Class 52(2) In a vehicle seat, the inclination of the back about pivots 10 is controlled by a U-shaped frame 15 pivoted to arms 12 at 14. The frame 15 carries rods 18, 19 which engage the teeth of rack 20 fixed to seat frame 1, 3. A rubber strip 25, hooked to rod 18, is tensioned on lifting the rods 18, 19 out of the rack teeth sufficiently to raise the seat back to the upright position without any rearward pressure being exerted on frame 15.
