Abstract

864,571. S ts. FLINT, H. C. Aug. 18, 1958, No. 26551/58. Classes 52(1) and 52(4). A seat back 16 capable of vertical movement is connected by forwardly directed arms 17 to the resilient cushion of a seat so that the back and seat move in unison when in use. The seat springs which are arranged from front to back of the seat and may be of sinuous wire as shown are connected to one or more transverse springs, the ends of the arms 17 being pivoted at 55 to a frame, platform or the like carried by the transverse springs. The covering material of the seat cushion may be substantially air-tight and an adjustable air-vent provided in the base for controlled air-damping of the springing.
