Abstract

891,778. Cartons. ESSELTE FORPACKNING A.B. Dec. 30, 1959 [Jan. 3, 1959], No. 44177/59. Class 18. An airtight carton having no liner is formed from the blank shown in Fig. 1 by pasting strip 5 to the pane] 4 to form a tubular carton having end panels 6, 9, 8, joined together and one separate panel 7. The panels 6, 8 are folded diagonally at creases 11. An extension 12 on end panel 9 is heat sealed to the end panel 7 to form an airtight seal and a locking flap 16 is tucked into an opening 14, 15 beneath which is stuck a piece of lining material L7 which prevents air from entering the carton via the opening. If both ends of the carton have identical end panels, the piece of lining 17 may extend down the length of panel 4 to the other flap 9.
