Abstract

890,983. Furnace roof bricks. OUGHTIBRIDGE SILICA FIREBRICK CO. Ltd. July 29, 1960 [Aug. 7, 1959], No. 26532/60. Class 51 (2). A metal-cased refractory brick 1 has a channel insert 4 with side flange extensions 6 bent over the top of the brick, and the web, which contacts the metal case on face of the brick, extended to form a hanger tab 7 bent over the flange extensions. The latter are offset downwardly by the width of the tab. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), the extensions arise from side flanges and the web of a channel member forming part of the brick easing. The tab may be made of stainless steel welded to the web.
