890,924. Converting; transformers. SIEMENS-SCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. Nov. 6, 1959 [Nov. 6, 1958], No. 37771/59. Class 38 (2). A heavy current rectifier installation for supplying an electrochemical bath includes a triple biphase circuit with a three-phase interphase reactor structurally combined with the feed transformer. The feed transformer has a delta-connected primary winding 1 and four parallel biphase secondary windings 2-5 per phase. Each biphase winding has its centre point connected through three phase interphase reactor 14 to output terminal N. The ends of each biphase winding are connected through discharge tubes or semi-conductor rectifiers 6 to 13 to output terminal P. The feed transformer and interphase reactor are wound on a laminated core 17 (Fig. 2), transformer windings 24-32 on the upper part and the reactor windings on the lower part. The rectifiers are placed as close to the transformer as possible and when semi-conductor rectifiers are used they may be arranged on the transformer. In the latter case all the components may be arranged in a common oil-filled tank.
