890,292. Cartons. MARDON, SON & HALL Ltd. June 23, 1959 [June 24, 1958], No. 20118/58. Class 18. The box shown in Fig. 1 has its top edges reinforced by turned-over portions 14, 20, 21. The blank, Fig. 2, is folded at 11 to form a double thickness at the top and bottom edges, these edges being sealed by adhesive. End flaps 6-9 are next folded inwards and the end walls 3, 5 folded up on the outside thereof are secured by a heat sealable coating or by staples. Alternatively, the ends 3, 5 may be folded up first to lie inside the flaps 6-9. The flaps 6,8 and 7, 9 may meet at the centre-line of their adjacent end walls or may be shorter than the end walls. In the latter ease, the turned-over edges 20, 21 are extended to meet at the centre-line. To'facilitate the bending of the turned-over portions at the corners, circular or semicircular parts 15 may be cut away or the portion 14 may be slotted at the corner fold 10.
