An hydraulic motor comprises a plurality of pistons 3 arranged in bores 2 of a carrying body 1 and acting in radial or nearly radial directions, the pistons being provided with rollers 4 engaging a cam 5 mounted on a driven shaft 6. The bores may be so arranged that their longitudinal axes are equally displaced from the centre of the cam and the torque driving the shaft in one direction differs from that in the opposite direction or the axes may intersect at the centre of the cam. In a further embodiment, the pistons are provided in a rotatable body which is surrounded by a stationary cam. Two or more series of bores may be provided in the body 1 and act on two or more cams 5 so displaced relative to each other; thus an improved uniform transmission of the torque is provided.
