Abstract
887,605. Stressed concrete structures. CABLE COVERS Ltd. July 11, 1960 [July 15, 1959], No. 24378/59. Class 20(4) An anchorage device for use in post-tensioned concrete sturctures comprises an axially bored tapered socket member 3 through which the cable or cables can be passed, the socket having at one end a locating flange 4 and the whole or a part of the outer surface of the socket being formed with a spiral rib 5 which increases in depth from the wide end of the socket to the narrow end so that the external diameter of each convolution of the rib is constant. The cables may be held by anchor grips 10, Fig. 4, which abut a drilled plate 9 which bears against the locating flange. The bore 7, Fig. 5, may be provided with two oppositely disposed tapering portions, a single cable being secured in one of the tapering portions by steel wedges 15.
