Abstract

895,519. Clamp fastenings. P.S.C. EQUIPMENT Ltd. Aug. 25, 1960 [Sept. 10, 1959], No. 30916/59. Class 44. An externally tapered split sleeve has a longitudinally extending groove 4 diametrically opposite the split 3 the groove and split thereby defining two equal jaws 6, 7 and the groove allowing limited relative movement of the jaws with respect to each other, the sleeve also being internally tapered. The groove can extend either from the outer surface as shown or from the inner surface. The sleeve is designed to be located within an internally tapered cylindrical body and to surround a second split tapered sleeve which grips a wire or rod to form a quick release anchorage for the wire or rod in prestressing concrete and like structures.
