869,923. Friction-grip fastenings. CABLE COVERS Ltd. Nov. 8, 1957 [June 29, 1957], No. 20612/57. Class 44. In an anchor grip for use in tensioning wires, cables, rods or like members, wherein a plurality of gripping jaws 3 having internal serrations or teeth 4 and at least partly frusto-conical external surfaces 5 are arranged to surround the member w to be gripped and adapted to be wedged within an internally coned body 1 when the member is tensioned, four segmental wedgeshaped gripping jaws 3 are used to provide two pairs of diametrically opposed jaws. As shown, the cone angle of the jaws and the body 1 is approximately 14 degrees.
