887,549. Driving trailers. ROISER, J. Oct. 3, 1960 [Oct. 16, 1959], No. 33790/60. Class 79(2). The drive from a tractor to a trailer or an implement is transmitted from a telescopic shaft 14 to a shaft 6 mounted at one end in a bearing 8 pivotable about a vertical axle 11 mounted on the centre line of the trailer and at the other end in a bearing 12 mounted for rotation about an axle 11<SP>1</SP> carried by the trailer turntable 5, the transmission being continued through a telescopic shaft 15, 16 to the tractor rear wheels or to an implement. The shafts may be joined by single or double universal joints and in cornering may assume the positions shown in Figs. 2, 3 and 4.
