Abstract
887,320. Continuous-discharge mixing apparatus. WIBAU WESTDEUTSCHE INDUSTRIE-UND STRASSENBAU-MASCHINEN G.m.b.H. May 20, 1958 [May 20, 1957], No. 16228/58. Class 86. [Also in Group XVIII] An apparatus for mixing stones, filler and bituminous binding agent for road making comprises storage containers 1, 2, 3 for various grain sizes of stone, associated with weighing devices 4; a storage container 9 for filler and associated weighing device 10; a conveyer 5 to pass proportioned ingredients to a drying drum 6 having an outlet duct 11 for the drying air; and a mixer 7 into which the drier 6 discharges and to which the binding agent is fed through a proportioning device 8. The invention is characterised by the provision of a container 9a for fresh filler and a container 9b which receives dried filler carried along with the air in the duct 11, the containers 9a, 9b delivering their contents to the containers 9 via cellular-wheel feed means 11a, 11b driven by electric motors 13a, 13b through regulating transmissions 12a, 12b. By this means the fresh and dried filler are proportioned volumetrically.
