Used foundry sand and fresh sand are stored in respective compartments 10, 11 and are discharged to a mixer by endless belt (or vibrating conveyer) 2a, the proportions of the two sands being varied by the operator by means of handle 6 which operates screw 4a to vary the position of the lower pivoted portion 4 of partition 3.
