Abstract
655,644. Hoppers. AVRIL, A. C. Aug. 4, 1948, No. 20583. [Class 78 (i)] [Also in Groups II and XVIII] Apparatus for mixing uniformly measured quantities of cement, sand and aggregates for concrete &c. includes a mixing hopper 71. The cement falls on an inclined baffle plate 80, whilst the sand and aggregates fall on shoots 76 inclined at varying angles which project the sand and aggregates into the falling cement. The lengths of the shoots are related to their inclination such that the later falling aggregates reach the edges of the shoots at the same time as the sand, thus ensuring thorough mixing. The mix is fed out at 75 where it is packaged.
