Abstract

871,463. Mixing and agitating machines. LIME-SAND MORTAR Ltd. May 14, 1959 [May 30, 1958], No.17337/58. Class 86 [Also in Group V] Lime sand cement mortar is produced by continuously drawing cement from a hopper 11 on to a weighing conveyer 12 where it is mixed with a retarder e.g. zinc oxide which is delivered from hopper 14 via a vibratory feeder 13, and continuously feeding this mixture at a measured rate into a mechanical mixer 1 which is also supplied with a continuous feed of lime and sand. The mechanical mixer 1 is of the worm or screw type and the cement and retarder are mixed on the moving weighing conveyer 12 by means of fixed elements 15 suitably shaped as shares and a series of elongated elements 16 arranged to project into and comb the mixture.
