In an industrial process plant in which a mixer continuously dispenses a mixture of ingredients continuously fed thereto by separate feeders, each feeder has its own metering device which comprises the automatic feed weigher shown. The weighing receptacle is a continuously rotated drum 30 which is automatically emptied once a revolution when an aperture 40 in its periphery reaches its lowermost position over discharge shoot 16. The feed to the drum is by a vibrated shoot 28 connected as shown to a central aperture 31 in one face of the drum, the vibration of shoot 28 being automatically terminated by electric switching means whenever the weigher 37 registers a predetermined load in the drum. In the mixing plant described, the discharge shoots 16 of a plurality of such weighers all lead to a common horizontal screw conveyer 18 by which solid ingredients of the mixture are led to the mixing receptacle, to which liquid ingredients may be separately fed by pipe-lines in which are incorporated feed controls again in the form of rotated drums as shown but with the vibratory shoot 28 replaced by a valve in the pipe-line.
