[Also in Group XVIII] In an electrically controlled mixing apparatus for mixing predetermined weights or measured quantities of liquid and/or powdery stock materials, and delivering the mixture, in automatically repeated cycles (see Group XVIII), the stock materials are automatically fed to each measuring tank or weigh bin 1, 2, 3 until it contains the desired quantity whereupon an associated switch device S1, S2 is operated to effect closing of a further switch S3 (or S4 or S5) which controls the discharge mechanism of the tank, the respective switches S3, S4, S5 being connected in series whereby discharge of the tanks or bins 1, 2, 3 into the mixer 9 is simultaneous and takes place only when all the bins or tanks are correctly filled. After sufficient time for complete discharge from the bins or tanks, the respective discharge openings are closed and material feed, which had previously been automatically cut off, restarted. The mixer 9 shown is of the rotary drum type with a discharge shoot 10 which is electrically controlled so that sufficient mixing time is provided before discharge, and so that the bins or tanks 1-3 cannot feed into the mixer whilst the shoot 10 is in discharge position. The mixer may also be of the kneading type, the drum being stationary during mixing and rotatable through 180 degrees for discharge.
