Abstract
886,492. Loud-speaker diaphragms. TELEFUNKEN G.m.b.H. April 16, 1958 [April 20, 1957], No. 12046/58. Drawings to Specification Class 40 (4). In a loud-speaker which is sufficiently small as to fail to reproduce low frequencies, e.g. frequencies below 200 c/s., the reproduction of high frequencies, e.g. frequencies above 3 kc/s., is prevented by the use of a concave diaphragm which is curved either wholly or at least in the vicinity of the driving means so as to modify its elasticity. The diaphragm may form a portion of a spherical surface or may follow an exponential curve, and it may be aligned either by a centralizing membrane within the diaphragm or by the use of an external membrane in known manner.
