Abstract

885,953. Rotary engines. JOUBERT, E. G. March 1, 1960 [March 4, 1959], No. 7266/60. Class 110 (2). In a rotary internal combustion engine of the intermittent abutment type, the casing 1 has within it aligned bearings 4, 5, in the bearing 4 of which is revolvably carried a hollow shaft 6, on which is mounted an inner casing 11, to which the combustion cylinder 12 is radially secured, while the arcuate piston connecting rod 23 is pivotally secured 21 to a lever 20 rigid with a second shaft 19 mounted coaxially inside the shaft 6, the two shafts being interconnected. A pinion 68 is keyed to the shaft 6 and has two arcuate concave areas, which hold a cam 80, Fig. 3 (not shown), which is connected through the shaft 19 to the piston, stationary, while the fluid is admitted and exhausted respectively, through a port 55 in the cylinder head.
