Abstract

Circuit control apparatus comprises a coverplate a carrying a switch b having a finger piece c, a socket d co-operable with a three-pin plug (not shown), a fuse e and an automatic circuitbreaker, protection against large and small overloads being provided by the fuse and circuit breaker respectively. The circuit-breaker consists of a current-carrying bi-metal strip f slotted to form a central tongue, Fig. 3 (not shown), which carries a contact h co-operating with a fixed contact i, these contacts remaining open after overload deflection of the strip until reset by a push-button k. Alternatively, the strip f may be controlled by a heating coil or may automatically reclose the contacts h, i after deformation. The fuse may be mounted in the plug instead of on the plate a.
