884,474. Fluid pressure brakes. GOODRICH CO., B. F. Nov. 13, 1958 [Nov. 15, 1957], No. 36565/58. Class 103 (1). An hydraulic adjusting mechanism for brakes as described in Specification 883,894 is modified to replace the piston-type actuator by an actuator 18 carried by an annular diaphragm 25 clamped to the casing 11, 12 and to the actuator 18 and valve housing 20; the valve member 50 engages a diaphragm 45 whose centre portion 49a controls the port 36 connecting the inlet and outlet chambers 41, 54. The casing 11, 12, actuator 18 and housing 20 have bevels 33, 48 to avoid damage to the diaphragms. Specification 833,857 also is referred to.
