[Also in Group XIX] In an electric motor unit, embodying e.g. a pump not shown, and including an electric motor having a stator 2 and a rotor mounted on a shaft 6 rotatably carried by a housing 1 of the unit, a member 11 is provided to indicate the direction of rotation of the shaft; the member is rotatably supported in a concentric bore 10 through an end wall of the housing, and means internally of the shaft e.g. the pressure of the pumped liquid press the member when the shaft rotates so as to displace it to the operative position shown wherein it is maintained in driven engagement with the shaft an end of the member then protruding from the housing to make the indication. The shaft 6 has a bore 14 whose shoulder 14a is engageable by dogs 17 on the forked end of the member 11 to prevent the latter being forced out of the housing by the pressure of the pumped liquid which is admitted from the pump via the rotor cavity within a stator sealing tube 4 and shaft bores 14, 15. The member 11, which is preferably of corrosion-resistant material such as stainless steel, is manually axially displaceable back to its inoperative position in which it is disengaged from the shaft and its head is screwed into a threaded bore 12. Axial play of the shaft is limited by discs 20, 21 which are secured to the shaft and engage a bearing bush 7 rigidly secured to a bearing member 3 screwed to a housing recess 1a.
