Abstract
883,507. Valves; lubricating. MOTO GUZZI S.p.A. March 17, 1960 [Dec. 23, 1959], No. 9485/60. Classes 7(2) and 7(6). [Also in Group XXXIV] The big-end bearing of a two-stroke engine is lubricated by combustible mixture containing lubricating oil which is drawnfrom the intake passage 4 through passages 6, 7, Fig. 1, passage 2 in the crank web 1, and passages 9, Fig. 3, in the crank-pin 10 during the piston upstroke when suction is created in the crank-case. The oil-containing mixture is drawn through the needles 13 of the crank-pin bearing over an interval of between 60 degrees and 120 degrees when the passage 2 is in communication with a port 8 at the end of passage 7.
