Abstract
883,095. Mono-rail railway switch points. ALWEG-FORSCHUNG G.m.b.H. May 9, 1958 [May 14, 1957], No. 14876/58. Class 104 (2). In a set of points for single line tracks 1, 2, arranged side by side, each single line 1 or 2 has provided therein, in the direction of travel, a stationary single rail supporting structure 5 or 6 arranged between a pair of switches 3 and 8 and 4 and 9, and between which structures 5, 6 there is situated a rotatable supporting structure 7. In the arrangement shown in Fig. la the main line single rail track 1 is connected to the single rail track branch 12 through the single rail bilateral double-acting switch point 3, the single rail rotating supporting structure 7 and the single rail switch 9. The main single rail track 2 is connected to the single rail branch track 13 through the single rail bilateral doubleacting switch 4. The vertically shaded areas represent the range of adjustment of the switches 3, 4, 8 and 9 and the single rail rotating supporting structure 7 for the interconnection of the main tracks 1, 2 with the branch lines 10, 11, 12 and 13. In the arrangement shown in Figs. 4 and 7, the rotatable supporting structure 7 is mechanically coupled to the switches 3, 4, 8 and 9 by racks 19, pinions 20, shafts 21, counter-pinions 22 and racks 23. The ends of the section 7 and the switch blades, such as blade 3 shown in Fig. 7, rest on supports 16 which bear through the intermediary of wheels 28 on guide rails 17. When the section 7 is rotated, by a motor 24 secured thereto and engaging a rack 26 through a pinion 25, racks 19 engage pinions 20 which in turn rotate pinions 22 to move through racks 23 the switch blades 3 and 9 in the opposite direction to that of section 7. The movement of the switches 3, 4, 8 and 9 and the section 7 are limited by stops 15. In a further embodiment, Fig. 8 (not shown), the branch tracks 11 or 12 are forked to form a single-rail branch track. Specification 750,138 is referred to.
