Abstract

882,884. Remote control of latches. WILMOT-BREEDEN Ltd. May 9, 1960 [May 11, 1959], No. 16020/59. Class 44. The inside remote control handle for an automobile door latch comprises an actuating lever 2 pivoting about a pin 3 and having a pin 12 sliding in an arcuate slot 10. The lever has a normal position shown in solid lines, a release position A and a blocking position B. The slot 10 has two portions 10a, 10b of different widths and the pin 12 portions of co-operating different diameters 12a, 12b; in the normal position the lever is urged by the torsion coil spring 15 towards the position B and is retained in the normal position by engagement of the larger diameter 12a with the shoulder formed by the narrower portion 10b of the slot. In order that the lever may pass to position B it must be rocked on its pivot 3 by pulling towards the operator, compressing the spring 15, so that the smaller diameter 12b registers with the narrow portion 10b of the slot.
