Abstract
882,028. Delivering cigarettes in orderly arrangement. MOLINS MACHINE CO. Ltd. July 22, 1960 [July 24, 1959], No. 25464/59. Class 130. [Also in Group XIX] In a continuous-rod machine in which, in order to deliver cigarettes in two rows to catcher bands 9, 10, Fig. 1, stops 11 arrest alternate cigarettes entering rotary drum flutes 8 after passing between a spring 6 and table 5 from the machine cut-off 4 and being accelerated by a helically grooved wheel 7 as in Specification 875,330, one or more of the stops 11 are set forward relative to the others so that corresponding cigarettes of those delivered to the band 9 project beyond the general row width 12, Fig. 2, to form easily countable groups, preferably of twenty-five cigarettes including those projected. Fig. 2 indicates the result of using one stop set forward on a twenty-five flute drum. In Fig. 3 (not shown) the result of using two stops set forward seven stops apart on a thirty-four flute drum is indicated.
