Abstract
880,884. Pneumatic conveyers. MITCHELL ENGINEERING Ltd., and JAMES, D. A. April 5, 1960 [May 25, 1959], No. 17697/59. Class 78 (1). In a conveyer for pulverized fuel which distributes fuel laden gas from a single pulverizing mill to a number of burners, a distributer forms part of the conduit and is so constructed that, after division, the streams of dust-laden gas contain like quantities and grades of fuel and like quantities of gas. The distributer comprises concentric cylinders 10, 13 which are connected by twelve radially-extending helical vanes 14. A series of vanes 15 of opposite hand project from the inner surface of the cylinder 13. Each vane 14 extends through 60 degrees, but each vane 15 extends through twice that angle. The end 12 of the distributer is bolted to the outlet from a fan and the end 11 is bolted to a piece having several outlet branches leading to burners.
