Abstract

1435444 Screw feeds to pneumatic conveyers FULLER CO 17 Jan 1974 [12 March 1973] 02217/74 Heading B8A Pulverulent material is fed to the inlet chamber 5 of a pneumatic conveyer by a screw conveyer comprising a screw 9 supported at each end on bearings 3, 4 and rotating in a casing 1 having an inlet 6 and an outlet controlled by a flap valve (21, Figs. 2 and 3), means being provided to prevent clogging of the bearing 3. Reverse flights 19 on the screw 9, and gas under pressure from an inlet 17 prevent clogging of the bearing 3. The conveying flights 18 of the screw have a decreasing pitch so as to compress the material.
