Class 59 In a garbage shredder, the grinding chamber is formed by a cylindrical ring 21 having vertical tapered grinding ribs 23 and an annular flange 24 notched to form inclined ribs 25. The flange 24 may be separate from the ring 21. A disc 31 is keyed to the shaft of electric motor 28, the disc having upper and lower radial protuberances 34, 35 and diametrically-opposed radial slots.
