Abstract

746,655. Gyratory crushers. NORDBERG MANUFACTURING CO. June 18, 1954, No. 18043/54. Class 59. A generally frusto-conical one-piece bowl liner 18 for gyratory crushers has ten or more outwardly-extending lugs 56 arranged round its upper peripheral edge for supporting the liner on the bowl 16. The liner is secured to the bowl by means of an adapter ring 58 having a corresponding number of inwardly-extending lugs 64 adapted to engage the lugs 56 and be held in the engaged position by a removable T- shaped locking member 66. The adapter ring is provided with a screw thread 60 engaging a screw thread 62 on the bowl. The bowl comprises a conical portion 46 and a cylindrical portion 48 connected to the portion 46 at its lower edge, the portions 46, 48 also being connected to each other by a number of evenlyspaced radial ribs 50. The adapter ring has a number of unevenly-spaced projections 70 on its upper edge with which a tool bearing against one of the ribs 50 can be engaged to screw-up or unscrew the adapter ring from the bowl. The free space between the liner and the bowl portion 46 may be filled with lead or other backing metal 47 through the spaces 68 between the lugs 56 and 64. In a modification, Fig. 6 (not shown), the lugs on the adapter ring are provided at its lower, instead of its upper, edge.
