Abstract
879,992. Mine chocks. MINING ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. Feb. 16, 1960 [April 7, 1959], No. 11680/59. Class 20(2) A chock for supporting mine roofs comprises four hollow corner pillars 10 interconnected by spacers 11 riveted thereto. As shown, the pillars 10 are clover-shaped and provided with U- or V-shaped indentations 12 together with flanges 13 which are clamped internally or externally of the flanged spacers 11, see also Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown). The chock has plates 18, 19 welded to its top and bottom surfaces and is provided with handles 21 and anchorages 22. In a modification, the depth of each spacer 11 is less than that of the pillars and the plates 18. 19 are welded to the latter only. The plate 18 may carry attachment hooks for chock releases.
