Abstract
824,800. Mine roof supports. MINING ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. March 18, 1958 [April 9, 1957], No. 11489/57. Class 20(2) A chock for supporting mine roofs has a hollow base made of four identical steel plates 12 with Z ends the webs 13 of the ends being at 45 degrees to the planes of the plates and having central slots extending from one edge half the depth of the plates and of a width equal to the thickness of the plates, adjacent plates being inverted and welded together at the slots. The flanges 15 ofthe ends may be parallel or at right angles to the planes of the plates. Plates 20 are welded to the top and bottom of the chock and stiffening tubes 24 and a hauling eye 23 to the sides. The lower plate 20 has upturned flanges 22. Specification 775,345 is referred to.
