Abstract

898,717. Tunnels. HOLLYBANK ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. Aug. 30, 1960 [June 4, 1959], No. 19196/59. Class 85. Lagging for mine shafts comprises arches or support members J, J<SP>1</SP>, sheets 5, 51 slidably supported between the members, and spacers 6 having releasable or slidable connections to the edges of adjacent sheets. The sheets 5<SP>1</SP> are fixed to adjacent longitudinally aligned sheets and the arches by hooks 10<SP>1</SP> which engage lugs 18, 18<SP>1</SP> on the sheets and which are held in position by wedges 17. The fixing hook 25 adjacent an end arch engages the arch instead of the lug 18<SP>1</SP>. In a modification the lugs carrying the hooks are carried by separate members which engage the edges of adjacent sheets.
