A lagging iron comprises a corrugated sheet provided at opposite ends with apertures adapted for engagement with the arches. In the embodiments shown in Figs. 1-3, and 4, the apertures 16 are adapted to receive the arch 17, the embodiment shown in Fig. 4 having a tongue 19 protruding into each aperture and adapted to coact with the flange 21 of an arch.
