Abstract

958,056. Mine arches and support rings. BECORIT (G.B.) Ltd. Aug. 10, 1962 [Aug. 10, 1961], No. 28859/61. Heading E1E. A sectional mine arch or ring is provided with triangular or trapezoidal pressure pieces 12 between adjacent sections 10, each member 12 being yieldably held in position by a leaf spring 13 secured to the members 10 by U-brackets 15 and wedges 17, see also Fig. 4 (not shown). The spring is made of high carbon steel whilst the member 12 is made of mild steel or steel alloy. The end faces of the girders may have -pressure abutment plates welded thereto.
