Abstract

878,640. Lamps for focusing and reproduction. BRON ELEKTRONIK A.G. Jan. 29, 1959 [Jan. 30, 1958], No. 3271/59. Class 75(4). [Also in Group XX] A casing is provided with a passage for the light rays of a discharge tube for photographic reproduction and of a focusing light source, the discharge tube being bent back several times to form a serpentine in at least one plane extending parallel to the area of the passage. As shown, the casing 1 with light-passage 2 is closed by a heat-protective filter 4 in guard rails 3, the side of the filter facing the interior of the casing being ground or frosted, and the edges thereof being overlapped by diaphragm members 5 which may be adjusted to the size of a translucent image 6 in front of light passage 2. Behind the diaphragm 5 is an opaline dish 7 which together with discharge tubes 8 is held in place by device 9, and then reflecting slide 13 removable by handle 14, ground glass plate 16, focusing lamps 17 formed like the tubes 8 and to shine through them, and finally mirror 19. The discharge tubes 8 are of the form of Fig. 2, one being laterally displaced with respect to the other to let the light from the rear one freely to arrive at the passage 2. A single tube of such formation may, however, be used. A similar construction but using a cylindrically or spirally coiled discharge tube together with an incandescent lamp located in a reflector is referred to.
