[Also in Group IX] The top roll of a pair of textile machine rolls comprises a permanent magnet 22 in a non-magnetic shell 24, polepieces 32, 34 of ferromagnetic material fitted in the shell 24 and contacting the magnet 22, and cots 18 and 20 of resilient material. The polepieces 32, 34 are formed with gudgeons 40.
