The subject-matter of this Specification is substantially the same as that described in Specification 877,788 but the claims are concerned with an aircraft flight control system including airspeed control means, automatic pitch altitude control means adapted to control the pitch-attitude of the aircraft with respect to a reference pitch, means responsive to departure of the airspeed of the aircraft from a reference airspeed for deriving an airspeed-error signal, and means for applying the airspeed-error signal to adjust the air-speed control means in the sense to cause the aircraft to change its speed so as to reduce the signal towards zero and to adjust the pitch-attitude of the aircraft through the automatic control means. Specification 655,172 also is referred to.
