877,417. Mine roof supports. FORGES ET ATELIERS DE LA NAVE. Jan. 6, 1958 [Dec. 5, 1957], No. 495/58. Class 20(2) A yielding mine roof arch comprises two curved I-section steels 1, 2 joined at E and yieldingly fastened to legs 3 which comprise U-section steels with outwardly bent ends. The arch may be joined to the legs by yokes 5 bolted to braces 6 or by U-section braces 9 joined by bolts 10, the bolts in both cases passing through holes in the bent over ends of the legs 3. A similarly joined U-section steel may replace the joint E.
