Abstract

875,085. Profiled paper-board. HANKE, K. July 29, 1958, No. 24422/58. Class 96. A wet web felted on a cylinder mould 3, Fig. 1, of a paper-board-making machine is pressed and couched to a felt 5 by a roll 4. It may be wound on a make-up roll 8 and taken by a conveyer 9 to a wet press 10, 11 which is drained at 12. The wet press embosses the board, e.g. to the form shown in Fig. 3, and reduces the water content from about 80 to 60%. The lower roll 11 may have e.g. hemispherical protuberances. The upper roll 10 may be rigid, or may be smooth and resilient. The board may be corrugated, profiled on both sides, or have some plain areas. It is dried in a flat-belt drier 14.
