874,748. Cooling dynamo-electric machines. LAURENCE, SCOTT & ELECTROMOTORS Ltd., and CRAIG, M. D. April 10, 1959 [April 11, 1958], No. 11670/58. Class 35. An electric motor, e.g. for mining machinery, having a welded casing 1 is surrounded by a high-pressure water jacket 6 arranged so that the weld 2 is not subjected to the water pressure. The motor and jacket are enclosed in a metal box 3 to which both the motor casing and the jacket are welded, either as shown or at both top and bottom, or at the bottom only, i.e. opposite inlet and outlet 8, 9. The jacket has welded baffles 10 to increase the length of the path taken by the water.
