Abstract

873,341. Feeding lengths of tube. MINING ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. Jan. 7, 1960 [Jan. 10, 1959], No. 984/59. Class 78 (1). Tubes 10 are contained in rack 12 and are released one-by-one by gate 15 to roll down shoot 18 and to fall into channel 20 whence they are fed into cutting-machine 11 by ram 28. The feed is made automatic by means of pneumatic valve 17 actuated bv a tube as it rolls down shoot 18, by limit switches 23, 24 actuated by the tube as it falls into channel 20 and by limit switch 25 and pneumatic valve 30 actuated by ram 28. A pivoted closure member 29 is operated to act as an additional guide to the tube as the latter is fed into the cutting-machine.
