Abstract

872,880. Filters. SIMMONDS AEROCESSORIES Ltd. March 31, 1960, No. 11387/60. Class 46. In apparatus where hydrocarbon fuel is pumped or drawn through an inlet 2, Fig. 1, to the region between a casing 4 and a cartridge 7 and eventually leaves the apparatus at 3, coalesced water being discharged from the cartridge at 17 between a coalescer element 8 and a separator element 9, a passageway 19, Fig. 2, is provided, connecting the high-pressure (inlet) side of the cartridge with the outlet 3, and flow through the passageway is controlled by a manually-actuated valve 20. Air collecting on the high pressure side may be released by unscrewing the valve. Where the inlet 2 is connected to the delivery side of the pump the apparatus may be primed by unscrewing the valve further to expose a vent 25 communicating with the outside.
